Single Storey Rear Extension in Dronfield (Dronfield Woodhouse)
< Back to Residential Projects overview
The property is a larger than average four bedroom property with extended gardens to the rear. The client wanted to demolish the existing conservatory which was leaking in numerous areas. The brief was to design a modern single storey house extension to replace the conservatory that would allow plenty of light into the space and not over heat during the summer months.
The design consists of a bespoke house extension, which includes an overhang, solar control glazing on the tall gable end with bi-folding doors overlooking the extended gardens. Motorised roof lights were also featured with solar control properties.
Planning permission has been granted within a very short space of time and the Building Regulations application has also been received back from building control. The client has now appointed a contractor through my bespoke tendering service where the client had the opportunity to meet a number of my recommended builders to obtain competitive prices for the completed works. The bespoke extension is to begin on site towards the end of July 2011.
